Smashcast 7: Technological Mishaps, character reveals, Kid Icarus influx and Monster Hunter hopes!

Hello and welcome to this fortnight’s Smashcast, from your friends the Heroes of Handheld.

It’s been a little while since the last update, so there’s lots to talk about!

First stop: apologies for the technical nonsense. My cable is still being a bitch so I apologise profusely.

Two new characters are discussed – one who is revealed, the other who is rumoured. There’s also some gameplay mechanics discussed: including the return of Trophies, the new Story mode, and a powerful move for Rosalina! Lots of other bits in the ‘Nintendo-Goodies’ section – including some level details, a new assist trophy and a possible level hazard. Finally Chris rounds things off by pitching a new character: the Monster Hunter from CapCom’s eponymous series.

This is the first ever episode of Smashcast to have been made into a video – it’s a bit rubbish as I managed to mess up the webcam recording section of it but it’s nice to know you can watch it on YouTube if you’re so inclined:

You can listen to the podcast through iTunes , Stitcher, or by clicking below:  For extra goodies you can also check us out on Youtube and Twitter.

Here’s what Viridi from Kid Icarus looks like (possible stage hazard?)

On the Kid Icarus theme: here’s Palutena looking like a potential character or a very good leak:

3DS ‘Story’ Mode looks a little something like this:

Finally, IGN uploaded this GIF of Smash Bros 4 for Wii U in action. It’s nice to see some video gameplay that isn’t a trailer, and I just thought it’d make a nice closing picture for you article readers.

Thanks for listening! Remember to get in touch if you have a character pitch, and look forward to talking in your earholes again soon.
